Donna Leigh Lucas, the daughter of Donald Lee and Esther Leigh (Owen) Wolf, was born May 25, 1944, in Hamburg, Iowa. She passed away Monday, January 22, 2024, at Community Hospital-Fairfax at the age of 79.

She attended Fairview Country School for five years and then Rock Port Schools graduating in 1962. She then attended Northwest Missouri State College where she received her Bachelor of Education degree in Home Economics and sang in Tower Choir where she and Ken Lucas met. Donna taught at Weston and Jefferson High School, both in Missouri.

On February 18, 1970, after 6 years of letter writing while Ken was in the Navy, Donna was united in marriage to Kenneth Wayne Lucas at the Linden Christian Church. They made their home northwest of Rock Port and became parents of two sons, Daniel and Jonathan.

Donna was a dedicated homemaker, caring for her boys and helping her husband on the farm. She enjoyed singing in the family quartet.  Donna had a true servant’s heart and was always willing to help.  She enjoyed teaching the cooking class at the Northern Highlighters 4-H club and loved to accompany school music contestants who were preparing for contest.

Donna was a lifelong member of Linden Christian Church where she taught Sunday School, played piano and served in any role where she was needed.  She was a very dedicated prayer warrior and was very faithful to visit new residents and those in need.  She was an enthusiastic encourager and usually would greet you with a smile and a hug.  If you visited with her for a few minutes you’d usually hear about the source of her joy, which came from her personal relationship with Jesus.

Besides her parents, Donna was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Arthur Ray Lucas. Survivors include husband, Ken Lucas; children, Daniel (Melanie) Lucas, and Jonathan (Kristen) Lucas; grandchildren, Joshua (Cori) Lucas, Benjamin (Leah) Lucas, Rebekah Lucas, Ethan, Caleb, Ryan, and Levi Lucas; great granddaughters, Bethany Lucas and Kodie Lucas; sister, Linda (Richard) Stephens; nephew, Ernest Stephens and niece, Brenda Morris; brother and sisters-in-law, Harry (LouAnn) Lucas, Nellie Lucas, and Barbara (Phil) Rutkowski; and numerous cousins and friends.

Celebration of Life: 10:30 A.M., Friday, January 26, 2024, Linden Christian Church, Rock Port.

Open visitation will begin 9:00 A.M, Thursday, January 25, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 P.M.

Interment: Linden Cemetery, Rock Port.
