Donna V. Ohrt, the daughter of Beecher and Inez (Steele) McIntosh was born February 11, 1933 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Donna attended Lincoln North East High School, graduating in 1951. During high school, Donna enjoyed being a member of the Penguin Swimming Club. She was then employed for the Western Electric Telephone Company in Lincoln.

 

On October 2, 1955, Donna was united in marriage to John Henry Ohrt in Lincoln. They made their home near the Watson, Missouri community and farmed north of Tarkio for over 40 years. As a busy farm wife, she also worked at the Tarkio College cafeteria. Sewing was a favorite pastime. Her greatest joys were caring for and spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities, and traveling to Lincoln to see her family. Donna passed away Wednesday December 26, 2007 at Nebraska Methodist Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 74 years.

 

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, St. John’s Extension Club and Couples Club. She was a former, Farmer City 4-H leader and enjoyed judging, cooking and other food preparations for the club. She was a member of the Tarkio Red Hatters Club.

 

Besides her parents, Donna was preceded in death by one daughter, Judee Ohrt, one grandson, Jace Driskell, two brothers, Bob and Wayne McIntosh. Survivors include her husband, John Henry of the home, Watson; two daughters, Dian Ohrt-Sporrer and her husband Michael, Phoenix, Arizona, and Sally Vietze and her husband Dan, Tarkio; one son John Ohrt, Westboro; two grandchildren, Ashlee and Mitchell Driskell; three step grandchildren, Michele, Michael and Adam Sporrer; one great-granddaughter, Mariah, all of Phoenix; one sister Margie Chapman, Kaluma, Washington; two brothers Marvin McIntosh and his wife Joann, Lincoln and Oral McIntosh and his wife Betty, Aurora, Colorado; two sisters-in-law, Jean McIntosh, Boulder Colorado and Frances McIntosh, Lincoln, Nebraska.

 

Services: Saturday, December 29, 2007, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Westboro, Missouri. Interment: St. John’s Cemetery, Westboro.
Family visitation: Saturday, St. John’s Lutheran Church from 1:00 to 1:45 pm prior to the funeral service.
Memorials: St. John’s Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society.
