Donnitta Jean Moslander Heard, the daughter of Alva Ross and Ressie Bell (Anderson) Moslander, was born March 26, 1937, in Mayberry, Nebraska. She attended Quitman, Missouri, schools. Donnitta enjoyed playing sports in school and was nicknamed the “Mighty Mouse” on her baseball team.

On December 26, 1953, Donnitta was united in marriage to William Lee Heard. They became the parents of seven children, Billy, Anita, Jonathan, Becky, David, Mary and Joseph.

Donnitta worked as a waitress, drove a wide-load pilot car, worked as a seamstress at a sewing factory and a nurse’s aide at Northview Manor Nursing Home in Tarkio, Missouri, but most of her time was dedicated to raising her children. The thing that she loved most, was serving God and telling others about Jesus. She was a faithful member of the Tarkio Church of God for over 60 years. William passed away in 2003. Donnitta passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 79.

In addition to her parents and husband, William, Donnitta was preceded in death by sisters, Rosie Kemp and Deanna Sue Campbell; brothers, Bob Baker and James Sawyer; stepdaughter, Beverly Shipley; son-in-law, Glenn Armstrong; and grandson, Toby Wymore. Survivors include children, Billy Heard and wife, Debbie, Evansville, Indiana, Anita Armstrong, Watson, Missouri, Jonathan Heard and wife, Cindy, Jasonville, Indiana, Becky Alley and husband, Russell, Tarkio, David Heard and wife, Lisa, Evansville, Mary Lehman and husband, Hank, Shenandoah, Iowa, Joseph Heard and wife, Missy, Winterhaven, Florida; stepson, Danny Wymore and wife, Barb, Excelsior Springs, Missouri; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 27, 2017, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Thursday, January 26, Davis Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 P.M.
