Dora I. Hatcher
1919-2016
Rock Port, Missouri

 

Dora I. Hatcher, the daughter of Clyde O. and Stella E. (Lytle) Perry, was born January 29, 1919, in Watson, Missouri. She attended High Creek Country School in Watson.

 

On December 24, 1948, Dora was united in marriage to Jesse William Hatcher in St. Joseph, Missouri. They made their home in Rock Port, Missouri, and became the parents of six children, Larry, Bobby, Kenneth, Dennis, Juanita and David. They later divorced.

 

Dora was employed as a cook at the Hill Top and Trail Boss restaurants, Rock Port. She cherished the time with her family and took great pride in raising and caring for her children as a single parent. Dora passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 97.

 

In addition to her parents, Dora was preceded in death by sons, Dennis, Kenny and Bobby Hatcher; daughter, Juanita Moreland; seven brothers, Dellis, Darrell, Roy, Maxwell, Ralph, Wayne and Ora Perry; six sisters, Lola Edwards, Thelma Daugherty, Edna Brown, Dorothy Campbell, Marjorie Winchell and Ruth Wallace. Survivors include children, Larry Hatcher and wife, Linda, Murphy, Texas, and David Hatcher and wife, Christy, Stillwater, Minnesota; seventeen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Ferguson, Tarkio, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Graveside Service and Interment: 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 3, 2016 Smith Cemetery, Rock Port.
Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Friday, December 2, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port. There is no scheduled family visitation.
