Doris Marie (Powell) Babcock, the daughter of Virgil Lee and Anna Jean (Shanks) Powell was born September 27, 1929 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Doris graduated from Tarkio High School in 1946 and from Tarkio College in 1950.

Doris was united in marriage to Glenn Walter Babcock on June 6, 1950 in Wyoming. She was a homemaker. Glenn passed away in 2000. Doris passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009 at her residence in Tarkio.

Besides her parents, and husband, Glenn, Doris was preceded in death by one brother, Neil Powell. Survivors include two daughters, Candace Hawkins and her husband,G. Michael, Arlington, Texas, and Deborrah Kasparian, Tarkio; three grandchildren, Payton, Anna, Taylor; two great grandchildren, Canaan and Julian; one brother, Jim Powell, and his wife Lois, Tarkio.
