Dorothy Arlene Moody, the daughter of Lester and Dorothy Roberta (Brusha) Olsen, was born November 3, 1946, in Hamburg, Iowa. Dorothy attended South Page Community Schools, College Springs, Iowa, graduating in 1964.

 

On November 22, 1963, Dorothy was united in marriage to Ray Dean Moody at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Westboro, Missouri. They became the parents of two sons, Larry and Don. They made their home in Omaha, Nebraska for 25 years before moving to Herman, Nebraska, where she lived to the present time. Dean passed away in January of 2015.

 

In 1978, Dorothy was employed for Omaha Public Schools as a Central Record Librarian, retiring in 2010.

 

Dorothy was a member and participated on numerous committees and activities for the Country Bible Church, Blair, Nebraska. She was a member of the Jackson-Peck American Legion Auxiliary Post #274, Herman and the Doe’s Lodge, Ralston, Nebraska. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, antiquing, and spending time with her family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the Arbor Care Center, Tekamah, Nebraska, at the age of 75.

 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dean Moody, and brother-in-law, Don Moody. Survivors include children, Larry Dean (Carrie) Moody, Mead, Nebraska and Donald Dean (Denell) Moody, Lincoln, Nebraska; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; sister, Annette Hess, Richland, Missouri and sister-in-law, Johnita Moody, Rock Port, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Private family memorial graveside service and inurnment, Linden Cemetery, Rock Port, Missouri.

There is no visitation.

Memorials: Shriners Hospitals for Children Transportation Fund.

Arrangements: Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
