DOROTHY KISH BREDTHAUER

Dorothy Kish Bredthauer the daughter of Frederick Cecil (F.C.) and Mabel Seiver (Scarlett) McCoy was born September 12, 1925 in Rock Port, Missouri. Dorothy attended Mount Pleasant Country School southeast of Rock Port, completing the eighth grade.

On November 14, 1947 Dorothy was united in marriage to Lawrence Kish and they made their home on the Kish Family farm south of Rock Port. Lawrence preceded her in death in 1985. On August 13, 1991 Dorothy was united in marriage to Bernard Bredthauer and they made their home in his hometown of Ord, Nebraska. He preceded her in death. Dorothy passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Nodaway Nursing Home in Maryville, Missouri at the age of 86.

Dorothy helped her husband on the farm and was a loving wife. She was an unbelievable cook, and wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved animals of all kinds, except snakes. She also loved to go fishing and enjoyed eating catfish. She was a member of the Rock Port United Methodist Church.

Besides her parents and husbands, Dorothy was preceded in death by three brothers; Willis and his wife, Mevelyn McCoy, Lee Edward and his wife, Marjorie McCoy, and Jack McCoy. Survivors include; daughter, Kelly Leedom and her husband, Kevin, Maryville; son, John Kish, Columbia, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, Megan, Austin, Dakota and Robby, Christina, Derek, and their mother, Raylene; twelve great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Shirley McCoy, Rock Port, and numerous nieces and nephews.

11:00 am, Tuesday, May 29, 2012, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, Missouri.
Interment: Greenhill Cemetery, Rock Port.
There is no visitation.
