Dorothy Lorine Huff
February 14, 1921 - November 12, 2009
Dorothy Lorine (Christian) Huff, the daughter of Charles and Leona (Hudson) Christian, was born in Watson, Missouri on February 14,
1921. She attended Watson school, graduating in 1940. On November 1, 1941, Dorothy was united in marriage to John LeRoy Huff at the United Methodist parsonage in Tarkio, Missouri.
They resided in the Watson community, where Dorothy was a beautician for over 50 years. John passed away in 2003, and soon after Dorothy
moved to Omaha, Nebraska to be closer to her family. Dorothy passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Immanuel Fontenelle Home,
Omaha, at the age of 88 years.
Dorothy was a 50 year member of Rock Port Chapter #440, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a life-long member of the Cumberland
Presbyterian Church, Watson and attended the Watson United Methodist Church following the closing of the Presbyterian Church.
Dorothy enjoyed being surrounded by her family, camping, and had dedicated her life to serving others.
Besides her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Faith Hawks, one brother, Hershel and
one sister, Gladys. Survivors include two sons, John R. Huff (Mary), Warsaw, Missouri and Louis A. Huff (Kim), Omaha; grandchildren:
Tony Huff (Melissa), Tami Steele (Mark), Daniel Huff (Nicole), Amy Hawks (Kenny), Erik Huff, Kiana Huff, Joseph Huff, Tate Huff;
greatgrandchildren: Elisabeth Huff, Spencer Steele, Charleigh Rae Huff, Matthew Huff, Wyatt Huff and Ryan Huff.
Services: 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, Missouri.
Interment: High Creek Cemetery, Watson, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:50 pm, Saturday, November 14, 2009, prior to the service at Minter Funeral Chapel.
Memorials: Atchison County Memorial Building Foundation.
Services under the direction of Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
