Edward John Olsufka, the son of Joseph and Helen (Micek) Olsufka, was born October 7, 1937 in Duncan, Nebraska. Edward attended Duncan High School, Duncan, Nebraska, receiving his GED in 1954. On November 1, 1954, Edward entered the United States Army where he served his country, receiving his honorable discharge on October 18, 1957.

 

On April 7, 1965, Edward was united in marriage to June Adell Knight in Papillion, Nebraska. They made their home in Omaha, Nebraska and became parents of three children, Barbara, Teresa, and John. The couple moved to Tarkio, Missouri in 2005.

 

Edward was employed by Iron Workers Local 21, Omaha for 30 years, retiring in 1997. In summer of 2021, he received his 50th year membership pin.

 

Edward enjoyed watching football games, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Kansas City Chiefs. He also loved woodworking, building wishing wells, and listening to country and polka music. Edward especially loved spending time with his family. Edward passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022, at his home in Tarkio, at the age of 84.

 

Besides his parents, Edward was preceded in death by numerous siblings. Survivors include wife, June Olsufka, Tarkio; children, Barbara Schulte, Omaha, Teresa Farber, Tarkio, and John Olsufka, Shelby, Iowa; grandchildren, Jeffery Rife, Jamie Rife, Allie Snyder, Katie, Darrell, and Krissy Schulte, John and Breezy Olsufka, and Carlie Theas; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; siblings, Clifford Olsufka, Irene Cuevas, Elanor Boro, and Joann Brazdea.

 

Family Visitation: 6:00-7:00 P.M., Thursday, April 14, 2022, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.

Services will be held in Omaha, Nebraska at a later date.

Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

Memorials: Edward Olsufka Memorial Fund.

Arrangements: Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
