Ellen Mae (Schlup) Rosenbohm, the daughter of Stuart Grant and Ruth Jane (Young) Schlup was born October 10, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri. Following Ellen’s early education, she completed several nursing classes and earned her certification as a CNA.

 

Ellen was united in marriage to Marvin Irvin Rosenbohm on November 29, 1962 in Nettleton, Missouri. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Pleasant View Care Center, Rock Port, for several years. She spent the majority of her life being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was well known for her famous pumpkin bread, Christmas candy, and homemade noodles. Ellen was a terrific friend to many and adored as a grandmother. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church, Rock Port where she continued to be a member. She passed away Friday, November 6, 2009 at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 63.

 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Larry Schlup and one nephew, Allen H. Rosenbohm, Jr. Ellen is survived by her husband, Marvin, of their home, Tarkio; three daughters, Marlena Haynes and her husband, Charles, Auburn, Nebraska, Jennifer Hamilton and her friend, Daniel Nicolas, Hamburg, Iowa, Carolyn Gilliland and her husband, Tom, Tarkio; one son, Marvin I. Rosenbohm II and his wife, Jolene, Tarkio; grandchildren, Levi and Chelsea Haynes, Lindsey and Torrey Hamilton, Nathaniel Nicolas, Shelby, Thomas and Saidee Gilliland and Slade and Garret Rosenbohm; sisters, Judith Anne Leppke and husband, Dave, Humboldt, Kansas, Carolyn Joyce Rosenbohm and husband, Allen, Rock Port, Sandra Lee Sumner, Tennessee and Debra Lynn Alrousan, Bolckow, Missouri; brothers, Michael Schlup and wife, Pamela, Washington, Richard Dwayne Schlup, Shenandoah, Iowa; second cousin and dear friend, Marietta Wedel and husband, Lawrence; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

 

Memorial Services:
10:00 am, Monday, November 9, 2009 at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Inurnment: Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.
There is no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Ellen Rosenbohm
Memorial Fund.
