Lucy Esther Rosenbohm, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Howard) Bressert, was born on January 28, 1914 in Hill Top, Arkansas. She attended Cooper country school and graduated from Nishnabotna High School, Nishnabotna, Missouri in 1932. Following graduation, Esther attended business college in Grand Island, Nebraska.
On January 28, 1935, Esther was united in marriage to Virgil Earl “Toots” Rosenbohm. They made their home and farmed in the Rock Port, Missouri and Fairfax, Missouri area their entire married life. Esther was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, spending all her time caring for her family, and was her children and grandchildren’s greatest supporter. A gracious hostess, Esther was known for her excellent meals, while serving people in her home. She was an active member of the Rock Port Church of Christ. Esther passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at North Kansas City Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 95 years.
Besides her parents, Esther is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; her grandson, Joshua Rosenbohm and two sisters, Thelma Miller and Helen Bade.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Kay Ball and her husband, Steve, Urbandale, Iowa; two sons, Dennis Rosenbohm and his wife, Sharon, and Duane Rosenbohm and his wife, Kay, both of Fairfax; seven grandchildren, Alisa Cahill and her husband, Jay, Michael Ball, Brian Ball and his wife, Amanda, Dee Ann Crews and her husband, Sean, Steve Rosenbohm and his wife, Maria, David Rosenbohm and his wife, Stephanie and Chris Rosenbohm and his wife, Melissa; seven great grandchildren, Ben and Joe Cahill, Aaron and Ashlyn Crews, Dylan Rosenbohm, Tyler Rosenbohm and Ava Rosenbohm; and several nieces.
FUNERAL SERVICE:
2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010, Rock Port Church of Christ.
BURIAL: Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:50 p.m. on Saturday, at Rock Port Church of Christ, prior to the service.
Memorials may be directed to the Peace On Earth Ministries “POEM”, or Shiloh Christian Children’s Ranch.
