Evelyn A. G. (Davis) Brusha, the daughter of Theodore and Leona (Smith) Davis, was born July 14, 1926 in Langdon, Missouri. She passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Rock Port at the age of 80 years. Evelyn attended Lincoln Country School, the Nishnabotna High School and graduated from Rock Port High School.

 

On June 9, 1946, she was united in marriage to Marvin Brusha in Hiawatha, Kansas. They made their home in Rock Port where Evelyn was a homemaker, wife and mother. For 20 years Evelyn was employed by Dr. Henderson as a dental receptionist. She also was employed by Ned Greenley and Kurt Clifton.

 

She was a member of the Rock Port Chapter #440, Order of Eastern Star and First Lutheran Church, Rock Port where Evelyn enjoyed singing in the church choir and teaching Sunday school.

 

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Marvin, of the home, Rock Port, three daughters; Carolyn Seek and husband, Patrick, Omaha, Nebraska, Barbara Hamersky and husband, John, Papillion, Nebraska, and Becky Brusha, currently in active service with the United States Military in Iraq, one son; Raymond Brusha and wife, Jolena, Boulder, Colorado, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one step great grandchild, six sisters; Esther Perry and husband, Ralph, Rock Port, Lois Douglass, Columbia, Missouri, Eva Tupa, and husband, Loren, Lincoln, Nebraska, Anna Clark and husband, Bill, Belton, Missouri, Donal Davis and wife, Jan, Grand Island, Nebraska, Sonna Lane and husband, Warren, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Helen McPherson, and husband, Charlie, of Rock, Kansas, one brother; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister and brother-in-law; Dorthy and George Schomburg, and brother-in-law, Don Douglass.

 

Services and burial were held on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at First Lutheran Church in Rock Port at 10:00 a.m.; burial immediately followed at Greenhill Cemetery. There was no scheduled family visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Rock Port Nutrition Center or First Lutheran Church, also of Rock Port.
