Evelyn Delores (Taylor) Perry, the daughter of Alva Paul and Mary Agnes (Mather) Taylor, was born September 26, 1931 in Fairfax, Missouri. She attended Sharp Country School and graduated from Fairfax High School in 1949. Evelyn then attended Gards Business School in St. Joseph, Missouri.

 

In 1950, Evelyn was united in marriage to J.D. Evans and they became the parents of four sons. They were later divorced. On November 18, 1972, Evelyn was united in marriage to Harold Perry and they made their home in Rock Port, Missouri.

 

Evelyn was employed by the American National Bank in St. Joseph, and also sold insurance for Shelter Insurance Company in Rock Port. On February 2, 1977, Evelyn began her employment with Citizens Bank and Trust in Rock Port, retiring in 1997 as a Trust Officer. Evelyn passed away August 11, 2008 at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri at the age of 76 years.

 

Evelyn was a member of the Rock Port United Methodist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of Rock Port Fire Department.

 

Besides her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her brother Curtis Taylor and sister Charlotte Taylor. Survivors include her husband, Harold, of the home; four sons, Kim Evans, Rock Port; Stephen Evans and his wife, Rhonda, Tarkio, Missouri, Reed Evans and Rocky Evans and his wife Jamie, all of Rock Port; four daughters, Chris Lewis and her husband, Jim, Rock Port; Debbie Lee, St. Joseph; Marilyn McMahon and her husband Ron; Brenda Hughes and her husband Rick, all of Rock Port; thirteen grandchildren, Mark, Dane, Jodie and Bryan Evans, Cory Hill, Marcie Joiner, Jeremy Lewis, Jill Kingery, Nicole Jones, Danny, Kenny and Bobby Slawson, Kari Beth Amthor, Lori McMahon, and Haley, Hyatt and Heath Haynes; ten great grandchildren; one brother, James Taylor and his wife Marilyn, Flemington, Missouri.

 

Funeral Services:
11:00 am, Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at United Methodist Church, Rock Port.
Interment: Greenhill Cemetery, Rock Port.
There is no scheduled family visitation.
Memorials may be directed to the Rock Port Nutrition Center or Community Hospital-Fairfax.
Services are under the direction of Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
