Flora Belle Kephart, the daughter of Ernest and Ida Mae (Davis) Kephart, was born March 26, 1931 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Belle moved to rural Rock Port, Missouri as an infant and attended Cooper Country School west of Rock Port. She later attended nurses training in Downey, California, graduating as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

 

In 1952, Belle was united in marriage to David Bruce Lloyd. They became the parents of one son David Bruce, and were later divorced. Belle was later united in marriage to Warren Hamm. They became the parents of three children, Marilyn, Delmar and Katherine. They were later divorced.

 

Belle was a very selfless lady, who cared for her father and brother, Ollie, before their passing. She also had very many friends. She was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint’s Church in Maryville. Belle passed away December 2, 2007, at Midlands Living Center, Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the age of 76 years.

 

Besides her parents and brother Marion, “Ollie,” Belle was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy, two brothers Everett and Harold and one sister Eva May. Survivors include two sons, David Lloyd, and Delmar Hamm and his wife Debbie, all of Council Bluffs, one daughter, Marilyn Hamm, San Gabriel, California; eleven grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren; three brothers, Arnold Kephart, Tarkio, Marvin Kephart, Los Angeles, California and Lloyd Kephart, Indiana; four sisters, Helen Scott, Sundown, Texas, Mary Hartman, Council Bluffs, Alice Smith, Spring, Texas, and Flossie Dunbar, Council Bluffs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
