Francis L. “Mike” Michaelis, the son of Ralph Christie and Rachel Stella (Morse) Michaelis, was born on August 16, 1940. He attended school in Craig, Missouri and in Fairfax, Missouri.

Mike was united in marriage to Linda Lockhart and they became the parents of one daughter, Michelle. They later divorced. For more than thirty years, Mike worked fireworks for Jim Pearce. From 1974 to 2001, Mike was employed by Eaton Corporation, Shenandoah, Iowa. Mike passed away on September 15, 2011 at his home in Tarkio, Missouri, at the age of 71.

Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by numerous siblings. Survivors include, daughters, Michelle Wilson, and husband, Garry, Fairfax, Angie Graybill, Clarinda, Iowa; son, Jeff Lockhart, Tarkio; six grandchildren, Brandon Michaelis, Kimberly Lyons, Laura Graybill, Jessica Grimes, Dustin Lockhart and Carrol Lockhart; and numerous great-grandchildren, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Memorial Celebration of Life and Family Visitation:
6:00 PM – 7:30 PM Wednesday, September 21, 2011, American Legion Building, Tarkio.
Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
