Gary M. Greene, the son of Clarence Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Tharp) Greene, was born July 3, 1954, in Centerville, Iowa. Gary graduated from Moravia High School, Moravia, Iowa.

 

Following graduation, Gary was employed by the railroad and for a brick manufacturing company. In 1975, he began logging and started his own logging business in 1977, which operated until the present time.

 

On November 21, 1980, Gary was united in marriage to Joan Cooper in St. Joseph, Missouri. They made their home in Rock Port their entire married life.

Gary was a member and Elder of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Tarkio, Missouri. Gary passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013, at his home in Rock Port at the age of 59.

 

Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by brother, Stan Greene. Survivors include wife, Joan, Rock Port; four sons, Kevin Schomburg and wife, Crystal, Garrett Schomburg, Aaron Greene and wife, Nicole, all of Rock Port, and Tyler Greene and wife, Cassandra, Auburn, Nebraska; eleven grandchildren, Salina, C.J., Payton, Skyler, Kaitlynn, Avery, Dillan, Treyton, Tanner, Caleb and Blake; two brothers, Jim Greene and wife, Rose, Centerville, and Danny Greene and, Claudia, Linton, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Memorial Service: 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 17, 2013, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:50 P.M., Tuesday, prior to the service, at Minter Funeral Chapel.
