Gayla J. McIntosh
September 30, 1933 - March 3, 2011
Gayla J. (Arnold) McIntosh was born in Shubert, Nebraska, on September 30, 1933, to John Charles and Florence Alvina (Carlson) Arnold. She was the youngest of six children. Gayla attended elementary and high school in Dawson, Nebraska, graduating in 1951. After graduation, she was enrolled at Tarkio College for two years.
Gayla was united in marriage to Roy McIntosh of Tarkio, Missouri, on June 1, 1953. They made their home in Tarkio, where they lived to the present time. This union was blessed with three children; John Leroy, Kimberly Ann, and Stuart Blake.
Gayla spent her working life as a secretary at Tarkio College, retiring in 1990. In her spare time, Gayla enjoyed counted cross-stitching, creating many beautiful pieces. She was a member of Tarkio P.E.O. Chapter FF, Tarkio Presbyterian Church, and a board member of the Tarkio Public Housing Authority. Gayla passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Community Hospital – Fairfax, of Fairfax, Missouri at the age of 77 years.
Gayla was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings; and son, Blake. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Roy McIntosh, Tarkio; son, John McIntosh and his wife, Vickie, of Cleveland, Tennessee; daughter, Kim Lennemann and her husband, Paul, of Glenwood, Iowa; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial Service: 11:00 am, Monday, March 7, 2011, Tarkio Presbyterian Church, Tarkio.
Inurnment: A private family inurnment will be held at a later date, at Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 10:50 A.M., prior to the services at Tarkio Presbyterian Church,
