Genevieve I. Christensen, the daughter of Joseph and Maud (Palmer) Boyle was born March 1, 1915, in Auburn, Nebraska. She attended Auburn High School graduating in 1933.

On May 29, 1936, Genevieve was united in marriage to Fredrick S. Christensen. They made their home in the Tarkio, Missouri area and farmed and became the parents of four children, Larry, Michael, Patrick and Sally. Fred passed away in 1974. Genevieve passed away Friday, July 5, 2013, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 98.

Genevieve was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Tarkio and the Altar Society. She was also a former member of the Homer Club and the Tarkio Garden Club.

Survivors include her children, Larry Christensen and his wife Helga, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Michael Christensen, Tarkio, Patrick Christensen, Cimmaron, Kansas, and Sally Olstad, Livermore, California. Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Fred.

10:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 9, 2013, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
Memorials: St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Tarkio.
A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 P.M., Monday, July 8, 2013, at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio, where the family will receive friends following from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
