Georgia I. Million
1920 – 2011
Tarkio, Missouri

Georgia Iola (Webster) Million, the daughter of Arthur Lowell and Bessie Nora (Stroud) Webster, was born on January 13, 1920, in Carp, Nevada. At the age of six, her mother passed away and she went to live with her grandparents where she helped raise her sisters. She attended the Forest City and Oregon, Missouri schools.

On May 3, 1936, Georgia was united in marriage by Judge H.P. Savage to Oscar Benard Million at the courthouse in Rock Port, Missouri. They made their home in the Oregon, Rock Port and Tarkio areas. Oscar passed away in 2002 and Georgia passed away on August 18, 2011, at her home in Tarkio at the age of 91.

Georgia enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to cook big family dinners on Sundays with homemade noodles, the favorite. During her time on the farm, she drove the tractor, gathered eggs and tended the animals. Making apple butter and dressing chickens were big family events. Georgia would work outside in her yard in her free time and loved to crochet afghan’s. She loved to take care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Georgia served on the Tarkio Housing Authority Board for over ten years and was a former member of the High Hope Extension Club in Rock Port. Georgia was formerly employed at the Dime Store and Pleasant View Nursing Home in Rock Port.

Besides her parents and husband, Georgia was preceded in death by her son, Bernard (Benny) Million; daughter, Wanda Thayer; sisters, Nellie Shaw and Grace Mary Vallone. Georgia is survived by her daughters, Beverly Million, Omaha, Nebraska, and Peggy and husband Ed Ingram, Rock Port, Missouri; sons, Lennis and wife Kerry Million, Fairfax, Missouri, and Gene and wife Carolyn Million, Diamond, Missouri; eighteen grandchildren, Donna Lee, Terry Ann, Teresa, Neil, Nancy, Bernie, Joe, Jacque, Roy, Bruce, Meggan, Tammy, Matt, Kelly, David, Jon, Angie and Tami; forty-two great-grandchildren; brother, A.L. and wife Anna Lou Webster, Oregon, Missouri; and sister, Ruby and husband Larry Gooden, Haugan, Montana.
