Glenn Eugene Miller, the eldest son of Iven Brown and Ida Florence (Burrier) Miller, was born August 14, 1918, in Oregon, Missouri. Glenn passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at the age of 96 years in Rancho Cordova, California. He attended Oakland and Oregon School, graduating in 1937. In 1942, Glenn entered the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for 39 months working as an airplane mechanic while stationed in the Aleutian Islands.

 

On August 14, 1946, Glenn was united in marriage to Patricia L. Thompson of Mound City, Missouri. They became the parents of three children, Kenneth, David and Vivian. Glenn resided in Oregon and Mound City for ten years working as a farmer. In 1956, Glenn and his family moved to Sacramento, California, where he began a career working with computers at McClellan Air Force Base. Glenn retired from McClellan in September 1978. Glenn and Pat enjoyed their retirement years traveling and visiting with friends and relatives while also enjoying Nature’s spectacular scenery over much of the United States. Glenn enjoyed woodworking, making numerous items for family and friends. He was a member of the Arden Christian Church in Sacramento, California.

 

Besides his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by son, David (Sacramento, California) and brother, Galen Miller and wife, Merle (Oregon, Missouri). Survivors include his wife, Patricia, Rancho Cordova; son, Kenneth Miller and wife, Debby, Rock Port, Missouri; daughter, Vivian Miller, Rancho Cordova; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Miller, Carmichael; ten grandchildren, Jennifer van den Dungen Bille and husband, Rickey, Gilbert, Arizona, Samuel Miller and wife, Karen, and Jennifer Blakeman, all of Rock Port, Andrew Miller and wife, Amy, Acampo, California, Brandon Blakeman and wife, Kirsten, San Diego, California, Shala Shores and husband, Brian, Pollock Pines, California, Teesha Moore and husband, Joe, Darla Kicher and husband, Chad, Troy Soden and wife, Crosby, all of Carmichael, California, and David Miller, Fair Oaks, California; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, Lewis Miller and wife, Helen, and Lawrence Miller, all of Oregon.

 

Graveside Memorial Service and Inurnment: 1:30 P.M., Saturday, September 26, 2015, Maple Grove Cemetery, Oregon, Missouri.
