Harmon S. Deering
August 18, 1925 - August 7, 2010
Harmon S. Deering, son of Oscar and Carrie (Lester) Deering, was born August 18, 1925, in Morristown, Tennessee. He passed away August 7, 2010, at his home in Tarkio, Missouri, at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 20 days.
In 1929, Harmon moved with his family to the Tarkio Community. He attended Tarkio rural schools and Tarkio High School. At a very young age, Harmon began working for Scamman and Co. farming and feeding cattle.
On May 27, 1946, Harmon was united in marriage to Ima Jean Riley in Atchison, Kansas. They made their home in rural Tarkio. He continued working for Scamman and Co. until his retirement in 1987, at which time they moved into Tarkio. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Tarkio.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ima Jean of the home; one son, Harmon Deering, Jr., and his wife, Rose, of Ozark, Missouri; granddaughter, Leechia Raquel Deering, Sparta, Missouri; two great-grandsons, Nathan Chappius and Ryan Miller, both of Sparta; one sister, Zula Bedell, Port Orchard, Washington, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Harmon was preceded in death by three brothers, Lee Ezra Deering, Roy Everett Deering and Herbert Harold Deering; and two infant sisters.

2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2010, Assembly of God Church, Tarkio.
Visitation: Monday, August 9, 2010, 7:00-8:00 p.m., Davis Funeral Home.
Open visitation: Monday, August 9, 2010, after 9:00 a.m.
