Harold “Buss” Cook, the son of Elza Sylvester and Lillie (Maness) Cook, was born May 15, 1928, in Watson, Missouri. Buss attended Corning, Missouri, schools. At the age of seven, Bus went to work for area farmers.
On November 13, 1954, Buss was united in marriage to Charlotte Joan Wells in the Assembly of God Parsonage in Tarkio. They lived in Fairfax, Missouri, for a short time then moved to Tarkio where they lived to the present time.
Buss was employed at the A.S.C.S. Grain Bin Site for 20 years and at the Fairfax Elevator, also for 20 years. Each Year Buss grew a big garden just to give away much of the produce. He mowed yards, scooped snow and for a short time was employed for the Baer and Sons Popcorn Co. in Tarkio. Buss passed away at his home in Tarkio, on Monday July 26, 2010, at the age of 82 years.
Besides his parents, Buss was preceded in death by one daughter, Charlotte Louise Cook; brother, Howard Cook; sisters, Betty Lininger, Dorothy Cook, and Clydie Perkins. Survivors include his wife, Joan, of the home in Tarkio; daughters, Becky Curran and her husband, Stephen, Savannah, Missouri, Ellen Slemp and her husband, Terry, Tarkio; grandchildren, Jason Campbell, Melanie Campbell, Rachelle Brown, Arius, Darius, Matthew, Marcus, Nene, T.J. Slemp, Dusty Slemp and JoAnna Driskell; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Rollie Cook, Maryville, Missouri, George Cook, Riverton, Iowa; sisters, Mary Lee, Tarkio, Irene Turner, St. Joseph, Missouri, and Shirley Driskell, Claycomo, Missouri.

2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2010, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio
Visitation: Wednesday, July 28, 2010, 7:00-8:00 p.m., Davis Funeral Home.
