Harold LeRoy “Roy” McIntosh, Ph.D., the son of Harold Joseph and Mary Margaret (Gigeous) McIntosh, was born December 25, 1931 in Fairfax, Missouri. Roy graduated from Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri, in 1949. Roy entered the United States Army and served his country from 1953 to 1955.
On June 1, 1953, Roy was united in marriage to Gayla Arnold in Nebraska. They became the parents of three children, John, Kim, and Blake. Roy made his home in Tarkio to the present time. Following Roy’s honorable discharge, he took advantage of the GI Bill and began an extensive university education. Roy was approached by the engineering firm Black and Veatch in Overland Park, Kansas, to provide additional training in Physics for their engineers. Roy passed away, Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care, Tarkio, at the age of 88.
