Harold “Bud” Volker, Jr., the son of Harold H., Sr., and Sarah Evelyn (Close) Volker was born May 4, 1945 in Maryville, Missouri. Bud graduated from Fairfax High School, Fairfax, Missouri, in 1963.
Bud was united in marriage to Charlene Jones, they became the parents of two sons, Brian and Kurt. They later divorced. In 2006, Bud was united in marriage to Cheryl Farley. They made their home in Tarkio and Bud became stepdad to Cheryl’s sons, D. J. and Dillon Martin.
In the late 1960’s, Bud was employed by Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, Missouri. He worked on the assembly line and retired in 2000 after 36 years.
Bud loved country music and as a younger man played in a country band called “The Country Fevers”. He was a member of United Auto Workers #249, and a regular supporter of the American Legion and Paralyzed Veterans of America. He enjoyed singing karaoke, hanging out with friends, watching old westerns, watching birds, gardening and tending to his yard. He passed away Friday, July 19, 2019, at his home in Tarkio, at the age of 74.
Besides his parents, Bud was preceded in death by granddaughter, Gabrielle Matthes, brother, Jim New, sisters, Phyllis Burke and Kay Evans. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Volker, Tarkio; six sons, Kurt, Brian, D.J., Dillon, Todd and Tracy; numerous grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 26, 2019, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Tharp Cemetery, Fairfax, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 pm, Friday, at the Allen-Schiffern American Legion #199 Building, Tarkio.
