Harvey D. Mills, the son of Don and Preshie (Smith) Littler, was born on March 5, 1939 in Crete, Nebraska. At a young age, Harvey’s parents divorced. Preshie and the boys moved to Washington. When Preshie was united in marriage to Jess Mills, he adopted Harvey and his brother, Jimmy. In 1953, the family moved to Tarkio, Missouri.

 

Harvey attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio, graduating in 1958. On January 11, 1962, Harvey served his country in the United States Army, receiving his honorable discharge on December 9, 1963.

 

Harvey was formerly married to Judy Willis and Nancy Shipley. In 1984, Harvey was united in marriage to Kyra (Rengstorf) Bachle and became step father, helping raise to her two sons.

 

Harvey worked as a farm hand for a short time, before being employed by Missouri Beef Packers, Phelps City, Missouri for ten years. He then was employed by Eaton Corporation, Shenandoah, Iowa, where he worked in heat treat for 24 years. Harvey loved watching any sports event at any level of competition. He was an athlete and enjoyed playing sports, especially golf. He loved life and people. Harvey will be missed by many.

 

Harvey passed away, Saturday, November 13, 2021, at his home in Tarkio, at the age of 82.

 

Besides his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by brother, James Mills; sister, Barbara Erwin; nephew, David Joesting. Survivors include wife, Kyra Mills, Tarkio; sons, Andrew and Peter (Henriette) Bachle; grandsons, Shawn, Trevor, Landon and Tim; sister, Darlene (Kenneth) Joesting; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Erwin, David (Cheryl) Rengstorf, Roxann (Robert) Albrecht; nephews, Steve (Julie) Joesting, Jon (Sheila) Erwin, and Donnie (Jamie) Erwin; great nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

 

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 17, 2021, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.

Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 16, 2021, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio, where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 P.M.

Interment: Prairie Hill Cemetery, Tarkio.

Memorials: County Schools Booster Clubs.

Arrangements: Davis Funeral Home.
