Hattie Mae Chastain, the daughter of Jesse Ford and Rachel Katherine (Maness) Patton, was born, February 16, 1927 in Watson, Missouri. She attended Red Star country school and Watson Schools.
On June 19, 1942, Hattie was united in marriage to Allen Stewart Chastain in Maryville, Missouri. They made their home in the Rock Port area and raised their four children, Raymond, Loraine, Kathy and Rosie.
Hattie was employed by the Pleasant View Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide for several years. She and Allen also operated the Coffee Cup and Sale Barn restaurants. Hattie was the best mother in the worldÂ, who loved her family and would do anything for them. Hattie passed away Monday, August 23, 2010, at Pleasant View Nursing Home at the age of 83 years.
Besides her parents, Hattie was preceded in death by her husband and one infant sister, Bessie Patton. Survivors include, two sons, Raymond Chastain, and his wife, Shannon, Rock Port, and Loraine Chastain and his wife, Cheryl, Fairfax, Missouri; two daughters, Kathy Tetrick and her husband, Cleon, and Rosie Moore, all of Rock Port; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; five sisters, Marie Daugherty, Betty Kirk, Elsie Foster, Tressie Hart and her husband, Ronnie, Rosalea McConell and her husband, Dennis; one brother, Arley Patton, and his wife, June; numerous nieces and nephews.
