Helen Dorothy Wilson, the daughter of Melvin and Josephine (Berg) Clark, was born September 8, 1913 in the Cabool, Missouri area. Helen attended rural school near Dyke, Missouri.

On March 9, 1937, she was united in marriage to Jack Wilson. They made their home and farmed in the Tarkio, Missouri area. To this union three children were born; Jackie Lee, Donna and Steve.

Helen was a kind and good woman who enjoyed her busy duties as a homemaker and farmer’s wife. While cooking, baking and canning delicious food in her kitchen, she was often heard singing or yodeling. Helen and Jack were generous, hard-working people, always loving to share the bounties of their garden and crops. In spite of Helen’s enforced physical dependency these past years, she continued to use her alert and sharp mind, and even her last days could laugh and joke, thereby illustrating her belief that life is short and should be enjoyed by making the choice to be happy. Jack passed away November 30, 1982. Helen passed away at her home in Tarkio on April 24, 2007 at the age of 93 years.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Donna Upp of Overland Park, Kansas, and son Steve Eugene and wife Glenna of Monet, Missouri; two granddaughters, Sara and Mindy; and three great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband Jack, Helen was preceded in death by her son Jackie Lee.

The family expresses their gratitude to the kind and compassionate caregivers who assisted our mother this past year. They became her friends and enlightened her by bringing in the events of the outside world to her as she remained homebound. Helen thrived on the friendships and social life with her caregivers who even gave her a birthday party as well as a Christmas party.

The family would like to invite friends to join them at the Farmers State Bank community room for refreshments and fellowship immediately following the burial.
