Henry G. Wehmann
1947- 2015
Tarkio, Missouri
Henry George “Hank” Wehmann, the son of Henry George, DDS and Janie (Igoe) Wehmann, was born, March 24, 1947, in Bay Shore, New York. Hank attended St. Patrick’s Grade School in Bay Shore and Cranwell Boys Prep School in Lenox, Massachusetts, graduating in 1965. Hank then attended Tarkio College, Tarkio, Missouri graduating in 1970 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business.
On December 4, 1976, Hank was united in marriage to Sally Ann Sybert at the United Methodist Church, Tarkio. They made their home in Tarkio and became the parents of two daughters, Sarah and Mary.
While in Tarkio, Hank discovered his love for farming. He started by helping local farmers and was soon farming for himself. Hank loved the outdoors, working the Northwest Missouri soil and his livestock. He was never without one of his dogs, whether working cows or checking fields. Hank was active in his daughter’s lives including coaching elementary sports and 4-H. He always enjoyed spending time with “his girls” and made sure they knew they were loved.
After his retirement from farming, Hank focused on some of his greatest loves – golf, birds, and his family. Hank never met a stranger – he always had “one more story” and could be found daily on the golf course. He especially enjoyed the Senior Golf League. His infectious laugh and personality brought a smile to any room. Hank was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church. He was a past board member and past president of the Tarkio Golf Club and served in several capacities on the Tarkio Lions Club.
