On August 5, 1961, Art was united-in-marriage to Geraldine “Gerry” Gedling in Las Vegas, Nevada.  They became the parents of three children, Tamara, and Kenneth and stepson Glenn.

Art was employed as a Psychiatric Tech for the State of California in San Bernardino, then as a Correctional Officer and Deputy Sheriff for the California Department of Corrections.  He later ran a management company, and was the Supervisor and Engineer for a 20-apartment complex.  Art was then employed by Boeing Aircraft in Fort Irwin, California as a maintenance engineering tech, and finally was Director of Facilities Maintenance and Operations, for the Silver Valley School District, in Newberry Springs, California, retiring in 1988.

For three years before and after their move to Tarkio, Art was employed by Renzenberger Inc. as Western Coordinator and Supervisor.  He was responsible for moving railroad crews throughout California, Oregon and Washington states and established the routes and locations of all coordinating sites.  He loved this job and excelled, efficiently moving employees to their predetermined destinations on time. Art and Gerry moved to Tarkio in 1992 where they lived to the present time.  Art passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Nebraska Medicine, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 81 years.
