Howard F. “Buck” Gearhart, the son of Bud and Marge (O’Driscoll) Gearhart was born July 19, 1967, in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri, in 1985. Upon graduation, Buck was employed by Graybill Tire and Repair, Rock Port, where he met his wife to be, Sherry Graybill. Buck’s job was everything to him. He enjoyed talking about his work and his customers would always ask for him, knowing that he knew their needs. He was employed for over 20 years with Graybill Tire and Repair.

 

On December 9, 1989, Buck was united in marriage to Sherry Lea Graybill in Sun City, California. They resided in Sun City for two years before returning to the Tarkio and Rock Port communities where they made their home for the remainder of their married life. Buck passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011, as a result of an automobile accident in Mills County, Iowa, at the age of 43 years.

 

Buck was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Gearhart; and his grandparents, Mom Mom and Pop Pop O’Driscoll. He is survived by his wife, Sherry of Tarkio; two sons, Drew Gearhart, and Colton Gearhart and his wife, Becky, Tarkio; his mother, Marge Gearhart, Mound City, Missouri; father, Bud Gearhart, Canyon Lake, California; brother, Mark Gearhart, Forest City, Missouri; sisters, Denise Gearhart, Mound City, and Kim, West Palm Beach, Florida; half brothers, Wesley and James Gearhart; stepbrother, Michael Amato; father and mother-in-law, Vic and Marcialea Graybill, Tarkio; nephew, Shane McKittrick, Mound City; numerous nieces and nephews; other family members; and a host of friends.

 

VISITATION: A register book will be available from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. that evening.
There will be no memorial services.
INURNMENT: A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the Buck Gearhart Memorial Fund.
