West Plains, Missouri

 

Jackie D. “Jack” Eyman, the son of Alfonso Jerome and Inez (Brought) Eyman was born December 19, 1934, in Rock Port, Missouri. He attended Red Star country school, north of Rock Port and Watson High School, Watson, Missouri.

 

On August 13, 1960, Jack was united in marriage to Norma Nadean Tunnell in Shenandoah, Iowa. They made their home in the Tarkio, Missouri area for a short time before moving to Kansas City, Missouri, where Jack was employed by an over the road trucking firm. Soon after, Jack purchased his own truck, contracting employment with numerous companies. Throughout the years, his operation required many moves. He especially enjoyed his wife, Norma, riding in the truck with him. In 1984, they returned to Tarkio. Norma passed away March 23, 1996. Following Norma’s death, Jack moved to West Plains, Missouri, where he lived to the present time. Jack passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 79.

 

Besides his parents and wife, Jack was preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include children, Ketta Osthoff and husband, Ed, West Plains, Missouri, Rita Eyman and companion, Bob, Fairfax, Missouri, Loria Smith, St. Joseph, Missouri, Michelle Boucher and companion, Dave Stone, Paul Eyman, all of West Plains, Bonnie Womeldorff and husband, Mark, Betty Schebaum and husband, Dennis, all of Fairfax, Rebecca Kephart and husband, Travis, Marion, Indiana; twenty grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; numerous nieces and nephews; two dogs, Mason and Runt Eyman.

 

Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 2, 2014, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 P.M., Thursday, May 1, 2014, Davis Funeral Home.
Memorials: American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
