Dear Shirley, I was so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. It was a shock to receive Lloyd's email letting some of us living away know. I want you to know how much pleasure we all got at the 50th get-together you and Jim were kind enough to host. After years of losing touch with most of my classmates, your party allowed me to reconnect with everyone. Jim was a good and kind man who will be missed by lots of folks. Please accept my sincere condolences. Janet

I and Jim roomed at the same home, off campus our first year of college at Maryville. Jim was a good guy and mighty proud of his '58 Impala. Believe it or not, Jim occasionally got involved in a drag race, and I went along to wave them off a time or two. I don't recall that I ever saw him lose. I didn't have my own car and had to hitch rides to and from home, near Blandchard, Iowa. One Sunday evening I returned to our rooming house without my wallet. Jim offered to take me back home for my wallet. That was the fastest round trip I ever remember, 100 mph on the straightaway between Clearmont, Mo. and Braddyville, Iowa. I knew he planned to return to farming, and have often thought about him. I'm surprised I never ran across him during my five years as the guidance counselor at Tarkio High School, but I have often thought about him, and have often thought about him. He was a good old boy.

To Shirley==Jim and i grew up in the country a mile apart and a year apart in age. We went to Morning Star country school together for 6 years Then Jim transferred to town to play football. Jim (being an only child) use to come to our house after school and play football with my brother Jan and my sister Katy. When he had the ball we all three would hang on to him but it was no use==he would drag us all across the goal line. Sometimes he would ride his horse over and give us rides. same thing with his cushman scooter. I know he started farming much younger than 16==his dad had him on a tractor as soon as he could reach the clutch to put it in gear. I am very sad for his passing and will always remember him as a great friend growing up in the country. He was "just a heck of a nice guy" Sincerely, Lloyd weathermon 4739 s 70th St Lincoln, ne 68516 402-484-7391 HOME 402-540-3529 cell=I only turn on when I leave home. Wl55947@windstream.net
