James E. (Jim) Chambers, the son of John and Bertha (Wheat) Chambers, was born August 9, 1933, in Tarkio, Missouri. He attended high school in Burlington Junction, Missouri, and Watson High School, Watson, Missouri, graduating in 1951.
On June 17, 1966, Jim was united in marriage to Mary Louise Shockey in Gladstone, Missouri. They made their home in Kansas City, Kansas, until moving to Tarkio, where Jim lived to the present time. Mary Lou passed away November 8, 2002.
Jim was a plant manager at the International Paper Company in Kansas City, Kansas, retiring in the 1990’s.
Jim was a member of the Fairfax Masonic Lodge #483, A.F. and A.M., Fairfax, Missouri. Jim passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Bryan LGH East Hospital, Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 85.
In addition to his parents and wife, Jim was preceded in death by brothers, Ova, Erna, Curtis and John Chambers, sisters, Beulah Carter, Ella Faye Austin, Marjorie Owen and Imogene Mather, and two infant siblings. Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews; and many close friends in the Tarkio area.
Memorial Service: 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 15, 2018, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port, Missouri.
There is no visitation.
