James McCallan, Sr., the son of Alfred and Marie (Arnold) McCallan was born May 21, 1941 in Blair, Kansas. James attended the Floyd Catholic School in St. Joseph, Missouri.
On May 19, 1960, James was united in marriage to Gladys Tracy in St. Joseph and they became the parents of five children, James, Jr., Elizabeth, Nancy, Angie and adopted son John.
James loved antiques. He and Gladys traveled to flea markets throughout the Midwest where he enjoyed talking and joking with friends. James passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Tiffany Heights Care Center, Mound City, Missouri, at the age of 78.
Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by grandson, William Graf, sister Kathy Webb and brothers Alfred and Tom McCallan. Survivors include, wife, Gladys McCallan, Tarkio; son James (Jenny) McCallan, Jr., Maryville, Missouri, Elizabeth (Mark) Graf, Tarkio, Nancy (Billie) Sutton, Canton, Missouri, Angie (Andy) Gamache, Oregon, Missouri, adopted son, John (Jane) McCallan, Council Bluffs, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Angel, Jamie, Naomi, Brent, William, Steven, Jordan, Dakota; eight great grandchildren; and his four legged companion, Precious.
Graveside Service and Interment:
11:30 AM, Saturday, June 29, Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
The family will receive friends 10:00AM – 11:00AM, at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio, prior to graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to James McCallan Memorial Fund.
