Janet M. McHugh, the daughter of Charles Edward, Jr. and Charlotte Irene (Gant) Stevens was born March 10, 1949, in Fairfax, Missouri. She attended the Tarkio and Rock Port, Missouri schools, graduating from Rock Port High School in 1967.

On September 10, 1977, Janet was united in marriage to Lyle McHugh in Fairfax. They became the parents of one son, Timothy Joel and made their home in the Tarkio area. Janet helped raise many children at the daycare she operated in her home, of which many were very special to her throughout her lifetime. She also dispatched for the Tarkio Police Department. Janet enjoyed being a grandma, camping and taking trips to places throughout the Midwest with their camper. Janet passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Community Hospital – Fairfax at the age of 65.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gary Stevens; brother-in-law, Royal McHugh and his wife, Wilma. Survivors include her husband, Lyle; and their son, Tim; two grandchildren, Jacobi Hogue and Mya Welch; two brothers, Rob Stevens and his wife, Cindy, and Joe Stevens and his wife Janet, all of Tarkio; three sisters-in-law, Sandy McHugh, Karen Riedell and Marilyn Hintz; two brothers-in-law, Deloid McHugh and Mike McHugh; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE:
2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 3, 2015, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
INTERMENT: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
Open visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, February 2, at Davis Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 P.M. that evening.
