Jerald A. (Jerry) Moore, the son of Oscar L., Jr. and Margaret A. (Edwards) Moore, was born April 9, 1947, in Hamburg, Iowa. Jerry graduated from Rock Port High School in 1965 and Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business in 1969.

On May 31, 1969, Jerry was united in marriage to Amy Crabtree at the First Christian Church in Burlington Junction, Missouri. They became the parents of three children, Todd, Matthew and Melanie and shared 46 wonderful years of marriage.

From 1969 to 1984, they made their home in Chariton, Centerville, and Ottumwa, Iowa, while Jerry was employed by Production Credit Association. In 1984, they moved to Rock Port, where Jerry worked for Citizen’s Bank & Trust, serving as President and Chief Executive Officer from 1988 until retiring on December 31, 2014. Jerry served on the Missouri Bankers Association Board and as a Trust Officer for the trust department of Citizen’s Bank & Trust. He especially enjoyed presenting the educational scholarships provided by the various trusts at the bank.

Jerry was an active member in the Rock Port community. At the First Christian Church, he participated in the men’s fellowship group, and served as Treasurer, as an elder, and in many other capacities. He was an avid golfer and belonged to the Rock Port Golf and Country Club, where he served on the board and co-founded the Future Golfers Program. He also served on the boards of the Rock Port Rotary Club, the Community Hospital Association at Fairfax, Missouri, and on the Rock Port park board. Jerry enjoyed and appreciated the many friendships he made through his personal and professional activities.

Besides golf, Jerry enjoyed reading, pheasant hunting and shooting clays, playing cards and most of all, spending time with his grandsons. Jerry passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 68.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Oscar L. Moore, Jr; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Vera Crabtree; brother-in-law, Monte Crabtree; sister-in-law, Lois Baker; several aunts and uncles; and good friends, especially Larry Abbott. Survivors include his wife, Amy, Rock Port; children, Todd Moore, Kansas City, Matt Moore, Maryville, and Melanie Athen and husband, Dan, Rock Port; grandchildren, Ryan and Brandon Athen; mother, Margaret Moore, Rock Port; brothers, Dick Moore and wife, Kate, Kansas City, and Wayne Moore and wife, Maureen, Rock Port; three brothers-in-law, Paul Crabtree, and wife, Bonnie, Grand Junction, Colorado, Elwin Crabtree, Grand Lake, Colorado, and Marvin Crabtree and wife, Lynne, Peoria, Arizona; sister-in-law, Carol Crabtree, Independence, Missouri; special aunt, Deana Boettner, Rock Port; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 AM, Friday, June 12, 2015, First Christian Church, Rock Port.
INTERMENT: Grange Hall Cemetery, Rock Port.
Open visitation will begin 9:00 AM, Thursday, June 11th, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM.
