Jerry D. Murr
Jerry Dean Murr, the son of Arthur and Rose (Workmeister) Murr, was born June 21, 1942 in Odebolt, Iowa. Jerry attended Odebolt schools, and at the age of 17 interned with local electricians in Guthrie Center, Iowa, building the elementary and high school to learn the trade.
In September of 1966, Jerry was united in marriage to Mary Lamaak at the Lutheran Church in Odebolt, and they became the parents of three children; Tracy, Tripp and Scott. They made their home in Rock Port, Missouri until moving to Corning, Missouri in 1972. Mary passed away June 5, 2018.
Jerry was employed as an electrician for Missouri Beef Packers and then as an electrician and in refrigeration for Con-Agra in Nebraska City, Nebraska, retiring in late the 2000’s. Jerry also worked in residential homes and helped area farmers with all their electrical needs. Jerry passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph, Missouri at the age of 77 years.
Besides his parents and wife, Mary, Jerry was preceded in death by grandson, Kayenne Hall, brothers, Ronnie Murr, Donnie Murr and sister, Fayetta Konradi. Survivors include his children, Tracy Hall, (Randy Boatwright), Tarkio, Missouri, Tripp (Treva) Murr, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Scott (Alicia) Murr, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Summer Hall, Rock Port, Veronica Holecek, Tarkio, Timbre Howell, Rock Port, Laura (Joe) Ortega, San Antonio, Texas, Christi (Clint) Miller, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Emily Murr, Tulsa; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Delores Sprouse, Aurelia, Iowa, and Barb (Dick) Glau, Fort Dodge, Iowa.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2019, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
INTERMENT: Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.
FAMILY VISITATION: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, Wednesday, December 4th, Minter Funeral Chapel, prior to the service.
