Jerry William Key, Jr. the son of Jerry William, Sr. and Nell (Black) Key, was born September 25, 1950, in Augusta, Georgia. He attended Langley Bath-Clearwater High School, Bath, South Carolina, graduating in 1968. After graduation, Jerry joined the United States Air Force in 1970. He served his country during the Vietnam War and was stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base.

 

In March of 1974, Jerry was united in marriage to Rosemary Lowe at the Fairview Christian Church, Kansas City, Missouri. They became the parents of two children, Jason and Mandy and made their home in Kansas City, Missouri.

 

Jerry was employed by Kansas Homes Insulation for 30 plus years, retiring in the mid-2000’s. He loved being outdoors, especially spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks, where he could relax and fish. Jerry enjoyed traveling and was an avid Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fan. He enjoyed many years traveling the country watching his son, Jason play baseball. Jerry loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Jerry passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 74.

 

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Key, Sr.; siblings, Russell Key and Sherry Wisham. Survivors include wife, Rosemary Key, Fairfax; children, Jason Key, Kansas City, Missouri, and Mandy (Chris) Smith, Fairfax; grandchildren, Sophia Key, Josh, Jasey, and Jaxson Smith; mother, Nell Key, Warrenville, South Carolina; sisters, Debbie Key, Warrenville and Carol New, Lake Murray, South Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, May 6, 2025, Fairfax Baptist Church, Fairfax.

There is no scheduled visitation.

Interment: Milton Cemetery, Fairfax.

Memorials: Milton Cemetery, Fairfax

Arrangements: Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
