Jess H. Omohundro, Jr.
1926-2013

Jess Hutcherson Omohundro, son of Jess H. and Margaret (Clark) Omohundro, was born September 18, 1926 in Clarksville, Missouri. Jess attended elementary school at Salem and graduated from Clarksville High School with the class of 1944.

He served in the Korean conflict from February, 1951, to February, 1953.

On November 3, 1956, he was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Zuck. They became the parents of one daughter, Linda Ann (Omohundro) Hodnefield.

Jess was engaged in farming, and he and Ruth Ann lived on a farm north of Rock Port until 1992 when they moved to Rock Port.

Jess was a member of the Rock Port United Methodist Church.  Jess’s favorite pastimes included spending time with his family, hunting, traveling, and playing bridge.  He passed away September 29, 2013 in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Survivors are his daughter, Linda and son-in-law Kevin Hodnefield, two grandsons, Jonathan and Scott Hodnefield, his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Marilyn Omohundro, and two sisters, Ruby Garman and Marian Bankhead. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann, his parents, and two sisters, Willanna Crank and Dorothy Leigh Jacobs.

Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 3, 2013, Arlington United Methodist Church, Bridgeton, Missouri.
Interment: 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 5, 2013, Greenhill Cemetery, Rock Port.
There is no local visitation.
