Jessie (Warren) Naylor
1918-2011
Tarkio, Missouri

 

Jessie (Warren) Naylor was born to Hugh Harrison and Naomi (Stewart) Warren on April 17, 1918, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended school at Norwin High School in Irwin, Pennsylvania, graduating in 1935.

 

On September 9, 1936, Jessie was united in marriage to John Joseph Naylor, II. They raised their family and made their home in the Irwin area. Jessie passed away on October 5, 2011 at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care in Tarkio, Missouri at the age of 93.

 

For twenty-six years, Jessie served the Norwin Community as a “Welcome Wagon Hostess.” She organized the Newcomer’s Club to help those who were new in the community become better acquainted. For twenty-five years, Jessie was employed by Dr. Emilio Villegas, retiring at the age of 83.

 

Jessie was active in many theatrical and musical groups. She was a Charter Member of the Irwin Country Club’s Women’s League, a member of the Irwin Historical Society and was a member of her local bowling league. Jessie served as a deacon and was in the church choir at the First Presbyterian Church in Irwin. After moving to Tarkio in 2007, Jessie became a member of the Tarkio Presbyterian Church.

 

Besides her parents, Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph Naylor; son, John (Jack) Naylor; granddaughter, Karine Lyn Naylor; sister, Elizabeth Johns; and dear friend, Eugene M. Hartman. Survivors include daughter, Bonnie Naylor Fox and husband, William, Tarkio; grandchildren, John Naylor, IV and wife, Mary Ellen, Overland Park, Kansas, Erin LaFond, Columbia, Missouri, Kristin (Fox) Rhoades and husband, David, Wilmington, Delaware, Derek Fox and wife, Michelle, Columbia, Missouri, Shawn Fox and wife, Michelle, Kansas City, Missouri and Brendon Fox and wife, Katie, Rolla, Missouri; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and daughter-in-law, Sandra Horrocks Naylor, Buena Vista, Colorado.

 

Services: 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Tarkio Presbyterian Church, Tarkio, Missouri.
Interment will be held at a later date at Union Cemetery, Irwin, Pennsylvania.
The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 A.M., Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Tarkio Presbyterian Church.
