Jimmie Dale Grebe, the son of James M. and Emma Marie (Christian) Grebe was born September 13, 1935, in Rock Port, Missouri. He attended Tarkio High School, graduating in 1953.

On August 12, 1956, Jimmie was united in marriage to Betty Jane Campbell at the United Methodist Church in Tarkio, Missouri. They made their home in Tarkio and Fairfax, Missouri, before moving to St. Joseph, Missouri, in 1962, where they lived to the present time.

Jimmie was employed by the Missouri Highway Department of Transportation for 44 years, retiring September 1, 1997. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Gower, Missouri. Betty passed away August 16, 2009. Jimmie passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, at the age of 78.

Besides his parents and wife, Jimmie was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Raymond Grebe. Survivors include children, Susan Burton and husband, Danny, Tim Grebe and wife, Janey, all of St. Joseph, and Janie Baker and husband, Ken, Gower; grandchildren, Brandi Viestenz, Angie Kowalewycz and husband, Chris, Ashlee Grebe, J.D. Baker and Kadi Baker; great-grandchildren, Kenzie Grooms, Christopher Kowalewycz and Emily Kowalewycz; three step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service:

2:00 P.M., Monday, September 30, 2013, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 P.M., Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Gladden Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph, and from 1:00-1:50 P.M., Monday, prior to the service at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
