Joan Morgan Logan
March 22, 1924 - January 10, 2009
Joan Morgan Logan, the daughter of William O. and Beira (Dragoo) Morgan was born March 22, 1924 in Tarkio, Missouri. She attended the Tarkio, Missouri schools in her youth, graduating in 1942 from Tarkio High School. Joan attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln for one year.
In 1947, Joan was united in marriage to Kenneth Kemerling. They became the parents of two children, Ken and Kay. Kenneth passed away on September 17, 1986. Joan was employed as a secretary in the insurance business for nearly 40 years. She worked with Claude Templeton at TMMS Insurance in Tarkio until retiring in 1985.
On November 20, 1994, Joan was married to Ralph W. Logan. They made their home in Versailles, Missouri. Ralph passed away January 19, 2005. While living in Versailles, she was a member of the Golden Beach Community Church. She returned to Tarkio in 2005. Joan passed away Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Community Hospital – Fairfax, Missouri at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 19 days.
Joan was a member of the First Baptist Church, Tarkio, the Business and Professional Women of Tarkio and played the violin for the Mule Barn Theatre Orchestra. She would volunteer to help her many friends in any way possible; giving them rides and caring for her family.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Kenneth and Ralph; one son, Bob Logan; one grandson, Stacey Erdman; one son-in-law, Kenneth Nelson; one brother Charles W. Morgan. She is survived by one son, Ken Kemerling, Tarkio; three daughters, Kay Koenig and husband, Dewayne, of Hartville, Missouri, Katherine Erdman and husband, Bill, Tarkio, and Samantha McBride and husband, Bryce of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren, Chris and Erin Koenig, Nathan and Nicholas Nelson, Melissa Graybill; seven great grandchildren; a step mother, Frances Morgan, Rock Port; one brother, Dick Morgan and his wife, Billie, Rock Port; five sisters, Tommy Miles and husband Wayne, Janice Geib and husband, Max, all of Rock Port, Donna Shepherd and husband Kenny, Brownville, Nebraska, Sherry Gatz and husband, Wayne, and Judy Miller, all of Falls City, Nebraska; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Service:
1:00 pm Tuesday, January 13, 2009,
First Baptist Church, Tarkio, Missouri.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
There is no scheduled family visitation.
Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church.
