John David Butler, 82, of Burlington Junction, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at his home in Burlington Junction. He was born on August 29, 1941, in Topeka, Kansas to Frank and Virginia (Camplin) Butler. He lived in Topeka and Lawrence, Kansas. In 1965, Dave was united in marriage and became the parents of three children, Scott, Sean, and Shannon.

Dave served in the Kansas National Guard for six years. He was employed by Pizza Hut for 25 years and later the Jetz Service Company until moving to Burlington Junction. On April 12, 1997, Dave was united in marriage to Barbara Weland and became stepfather to Kyle, Kim, and Kristine. In 2003, the couple owned and operated Junction Pizza in Burlington Junction until 2015.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bernie. Survivors include wife, Barbara Butler; children, Scott (Susanne), Sean (Kristine), and Shannon, stepchildren, Kyle (Kathie), Kim, and Kristine (Richard); grandchildren, Hayley, Alexis, Meredith, Katelyn, Piper, Kolby, Korbin, Sage, Daegan, and Kenneth; seven great grandchildren; sister, Judi, brother-in-law, Dan, and sister-in-law, Sherri.

Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 1, 2024, Clearmont Baptist Church, Clearmont, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 31, Clearmont Baptist Church.

Interment: Lamar Cemetery, Elmo, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to David Butler Memorial Fund.
