Carla and Family, I have to tell you how deeply saddened I was to hear of Doug's passing. Doug was a wonderful man, as you already knew that. He made everyone feel like a friend. His smile, his jokes, and the compassion he had for even strangers...Making everyone feel welcomed. May God's peace be with your family. Pam & Gavin Wilson

Virginia, Carla and Family, I was so sorry to learn of Doug's passing. He was much too young. I stopped to say "Hi" to him a few times over the years at the Pharmacy as I was driving to/from Maryville. He was, and will always be someone I will remember fondly from the "Ville." And I can tell from the tributes and photos that he leaves you all with a legacy of love and family that will be with you in the years to come.

Carla & Family, My heart goes out to each of you at this time of loss. Doug was an amazing man and mentor, not only for me, but for so many in our community. I am sad to miss today's celebration of his life, but know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless!
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that you find comfort in your memories and in knowing how much people care.
I was just heartbroken when I heard the news of Doug's passing. After purchasing my parent's drug store when my father was too sick to work, he kept the family tradition going. The Evans family will always be grateful to Doug for helping us keep the store going. Even after selling out and going to work for Pamida, Doug always took care of us and was one of the first people I always stopped to see when I came home to Tarkio. He was a great asset to the community and a wonderful humanitarian.
Dear Wes Summa & Family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Carla and Family: Doug's fight is over and he is free of the pain and torment of cancer. No one is ever ready to say "good-bye," but this we know, you will meet again. Doug will be watching and cheering for his grandchildren from the best seat in the house and playing golf on the best course. Please know that all of you are in the thoughts and prayers of so many friends, all who share your sadness and who will miss Doug greatly.

Carla...The love of your life has simply stepped into a place of peace where he will continue to watch and love you for eternity. You two were always "the couple" and that will never change. Find some time for yourself now and rest, knowing that you did all you could to make his life the best it could ever be. Take Care. Love, Mary Sue

My thoughts are with your family. I went to school with Doug in Maryville and then talked to him thru the phone. I am the phone nurse in Shenandoah and would talk to Doug at times. He looked me up one day which was a surprise and thoughtful. I just found out about 3 weeks ago he was sick and I bought a card but never sent it. He will be missed.
