John H. Fischer
1934-2014
Gladstone, Missouri

 

John H. Fischer, the son of Charles Frederick Fischer and Lucy Ileene (Andermann) Fischer was born January 11, 1934, in Rock Port, Missouri. John graduated from Rock Port High School in 1952. On March 3, 1953, John entered the United States Army serving his country during the Korean War. He received his honorable discharge on March 2, 1955 and soon after attended Northwest Missouri State College, Maryville, Missouri and Tarkio College, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating in 1959.

 

On July 12, 1959, John was united in marriage to Betty Frances Smith at the First Baptist Church, Tarkio by Rev. Don Momburg and they became the parents of two children, Leona Kay and John Michael. John was employed by the Firestone Tire Company in Kansas and Missouri until retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Linden Baptist Church, Gladstone, where he served as a Deacon, and the Ralph Greer American Legion Port #49, Rock Port. John passed away Friday, January 10, 2014, at his home in Gladstone, Missouri at the age of 79.

 

Besides his parents; John was preceded in death by an infant son; two brothers and their wives, Charles and Carol Fischer and William and Shirley Fischer; uncle, Elmer Andermann; aunts, Minnie Baldwin and Mable Andermann. Survivors include wife, Betty Fischer, Gladstone, daughter, Kay Braudrick and her husband, Ellis, Kansas City, Missouri; son, Michael Fischer and his fiancee , Angeliea Dulaney, Gladstone; grandsons, Max and Alex Braudrick; niece, Terry Gould, Kearney, Nebraska; nephews, Stephen Fischer, Perkasie, Pennsylvania, and Don Hawthorne, San Antonio, Texas and Ron Hawthorne, San Marcus, Texas.

 

Funeral:

10:30 A.M., Monday, January 13, 2014 at Linden Baptist Church, Gladstone.
Interment: 2:30 P.M., Monday, January 13 at Greenhill Cemetery, Rock Port.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Sunday, January 12, at Linden Baptist, Gladstone.
Memorials: Linden Baptist, Three Rivers Hospice or American Cancer Society.
