John L. White
1946 – 2008

John Louis White, the son of Van Olin Alexander and Alice Elizabeth (Turnbull) White was born December 21, 1946 in Clarinda, Iowa. He attended the Tarkio, Missouri schools and private Catholic school in Kansas City, Missouri.

John lived on the White family farm East of Tarkio his entire life. His life was dedicated to caring for his mother Alice and managing the operation. John cared for Alice at their home until her passing in 1998. He passed away Friday, February 22, 2008 at his home in Tarkio, at the age of 61 years.

John loved spending time with his nephews and nieces, especially when they would help during the busy seasons or just go for rides through the countryside. He also enjoyed listening to music, gardening, painting, riding motorcycles, cooking and watching cooking shows. He was dearly loved by his family and will be sadly missed by them and his many friends.

Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by one brother Foster White, and brother-in-law, Keith Phillips. Survivors include one sister, Sharon Phillips, Lewes, Delaware; sister-in-law, Mary Anne White, nephews, Bruce White and his wife Stephanie and David White and his wife Melissa, all of Tarkio; four nieces, Kellie Murry and her husband, Ronnie, Tarkio, Mary Kristie Meili and her husband Greg, Milton, Delaware, Karolynn Kymm Phillips Randall, Glendale, Arizona, Kathie Kae Jones and her husband Kyle, Clearmont, Missouri; numerous great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral Services:  10:30 am, Wednesday, February 27, 2008,  Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening 7:00 – 8:00 pm, Davis Funeral Home.
Memorials maybe directed to the, Tarkio FFA Chapter, to establish a John White Memorial Scholarship.
