John Rainey Hudson was born on July 16, 1924 to John and Crystal (Metcalf) Hudson in Cambridge, Ohio.

John attended the Talmage, Ohio rural schools. After school, John enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country during World War II. In 1946, he was united in marriage to Naomi G. (Sayers) and they made their home in Akron, Ohio. John was a truck driver his entire life.

In 2004, after a lengthy illness, John became a resident of Pleasant View Nursing Home in Rock Port, MO. He passed away on April 16, 2007 at the age of 82 at the Community Hospital in Fairfax, MO.

John is survived by two sons, John Hudson and wife Donna, Watson, MO, Marlin Hudson, Akron, OH; five daughters, Rose Pruitt and husband Mike, Watson, Debbie Ogden and husband Ken, Betty Davidson and husband Richard, Billie Jo Hudson, Alice Byrd and husband Brian, all of Akron, OH; two brothers, Richard Hudson, Akron, OH, Allen Hudson, Tucumcari, NM.; 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 3 Great-great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by two daughters, Karen Canterbury and Sandy Inch; two grandsons, John Hudson, Jr. and Arthur Hazelett; two brothers, Wayne Hudson and William Hudson; one sister, Vivian Jones.
