Joseph “Mike” Burton passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023, at his home in Westboro, Missouri at the age of 68. Joseph Michael Burton “Mike”, Sr., the son of Hollis and Lilly Ann (McBee) Burton, was born December 31, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri. Mike attended Kansas City High School, Kansas City, Missouri. In 1973, Mike met Judith Ann (Farmer) Griffith and became parents of two children, Joseph Michael, Jr. and Amanda Renea Burton. Later in 1986, he was united in marriage to Becky Hansen and became stepfather to Brenda and Harmony.

In 2010, Mike met his best friend and companion Debra K. Childers and family, they made their home in Westboro. Mike owned and operated City Slicker Antiques, selling antiques for 15+ years. He was then employed for Wells Fargo Bank in security until retiring in 2009. He enjoyed art, scrimshaw, collecting antiques and guns. He especially loved listening to music and playing the drums and guitar. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by granddaughter, Sabrina and great grandson, Axel; siblings, Patricia and Rodney. Survivors include best friend and companion, Debra Childers, Westboro; children, Joseph Michael Jr. (Sarah) Burton and Amanda (Jason) Burton, both of Springfield, Illinois; step children, Brenda Donaldson (Austin), Omaha, Nebraska and Harmony Wolfsen (Julian and Nigel), Los Angeles, California; grandchildren, Cadence, Jake, Frankie, Cody, and Joey; great grandchildren, Chace, Aubrianna, Madison, Brooklyn, Sawyer, and Landon; several step kids, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; nephews, Shawn, Mike, Jason, and Brian and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.

All memorial services will be held at a later date.

Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
