Joy L. Barnhart
1944 – 2013
Rock Port, Missouri

 

Joy LeJean Barnhart, the daughter of Willis Lee “Kearney” and Marjorie Jean (Martin) Barnhart, was born November 20, 1944, in Hamburg, Iowa. She graduated from Watson High School, Watson, Missouri, in 1962.

 

Joy made her home in Watson, in their family home, until she moved to Rock Port, Missouri, in 2010. She helped around the house with cooking and cleaning and enjoyed playing with her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed playing bingo and caring for her dog, Alena, “Short Legs” as Joy most often called her beloved pet. Joy passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013, at her home in Rock Port, at the age of 68.

 

Joy was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include brother, Byron Barnhart and wife, Darlene, Rock Port; nieces and nephews, Steven Barnhart, Laguna Niguel, California, Jodi Hendrickson, Hamburg, Robert Barnhart, Rock Port, Michael Barnhart, Watson, Allen Paget, Branson, Missouri, John and James Barnhart, Rock Port, Tanah and Teagan Barnhart, Tuesday, Martin, and Augustus Leseberg, McKenna Barnhart, Ryllee Barnhart, Lea and Jozie Hendrickson and Jenna Hall; uncle, Harold “Bud” Martin, Watson; aunt, Doris Bemberger, Lomita, California; and numerous cousins.

 

Graveside Service and Interment: 11:00 A.M., Friday, September 13, 2013, High Creek Cemetery, Watson, Missouri.
Open visitation will begin 9:00 A.M., Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Minter Funeral Chapel, where the family will receive friends that evening from 6:00-7:00 P.M.
