Judith Gwen Catlett, daughter of Charlotte L. (Holland) Burke and Thomas O. Catlett, was born April 21, 1946 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Judy attended schools in Sidney and Hamburg, Iowa and Rock Port, Missouri.
Judy was a loyal and long-time employee at Missouri Beef Packers and Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, Missouri. Judy passed away on May 6, 2017 at Community Hospital – Fairfax in Fairfax, Missouri at the age of 71 years, 15 days.
Judy was a member of the First Christian Church in Rock Port. She was a long-time Kansas City Royals fan and also enjoyed watching football and other sports. She enjoyed “traveling” to Branson every Saturday night via RFDTV programs and visiting with longtime friends on the telephone each day. Spending time with her family was her greatest enjoyment, especially time with her grandkids. Judy will be remembered as a loving mom and grandma who loved caring for her family and sacrificed her needs to ensure her family was always taken care of.
Judy was a beloved mom, grandma, sister, and niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, son-in-law, Ron Ward, nephew, Matthew Catlett, and uncle, Clayton Holland. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Cook (Sonny) of Rock Port, Missouri and Cindy Koelliker (Art) of Hamburg, Iowa; grandchildren, Tyler Ward of Sidney, Iowa and Amber Cook (Jon Ward) of Rock Port, Missouri; brother, Thomas Catlett (Linda) of Lincoln, Nebraska; uncle, J.D. Holland (Marcella) of Shenandoah, Iowa; aunt, Sandra Holland of Denver, Colorado; nephews, Timothy Catlett of New York City and Adam Catlett of Denver, Colorado; niece, Tricia Krause of Tabor, Iowa; two great-nephews and two great-nieces; several cousins and many friends.
Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 10, 2017, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
Interment: Mt. Olive Cemetery, Hamburg, Iowa.
Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 9, at Minter Funeral Chapel. There is no scheduled family visitation.
